1957 February 11th: Mr R. E. C. Frisby's Bakery in Wills Street was destroyed by fire.
1958 October 7th: New F8 Dennis Fire Appliance arrived in Ashburton and put through its acceptance test in the Domain.
1960 Canterbury Frozen Meat Co. Wool Store fire at Fairton.
1961 Fire bell replaced with an electric siren.
1961 Fire bell replaced with an electric siren. December 29th: Fire in Tinwald plantation which was first seen about 1.15 p.m., is believed to have started by occupants of a car who stopped to have lunch on the roadside by the plantation, flames quickly took hold in the tinder dry 43 acre plantation owned by the Ashburton County Council. Sparks blown by the strong nor-wester jumped a quarter of a mile across paddocks and set fire to a five-acre
1964 October 17th: Gold Star presentation by Chief Fire Officer G. W. Gray, President of U.EB.A., to Deputy Chief Fire Officer J. W. Smith and Third Officer K. Kenny
1965 Old Steamer "Pride of Ashburton" restored. November 3rd: New Commer appliance delivered
1967 March: Radio Telephone installed in appliances. April 1 Gift Shop and Book Exchange in Tancred Street destroyed by fire. (Where the present Rest Rooms are situated).
1968 October: Ashburton Brigade was host to Canterbury Provincial Fire Brigade Association Competitions at Mona Square.
1969 January22nd: Assistance to Methven Fire Brigade at Woodham's Seed Cleaning and Grain Store at Methven. March 7th: Fire in Thomas Flats, Grove Street, Tinwald. May: C.EO. A. P. Baker elected President of Provincial Fire Brigades Association. Canterbury.
1970 August 6th: Mr J. Smith died in house fire at Smithfield Road.
1971 Competition team ran third at U.F.B.A. Competitions at Hastings.
1972 May: S.O.R. B. Tait elected President of Canterbury Provincial Fire Brigades Association. July 28th: Ashburton Sawmills, Leeston Street, destroyed by fire.
1974 K. Kenny elected Chief Fire Officer. November: Brigade Centennial Celebrations with the Smoke Concert for Past and Present Members on Friday, November 15th; Street Parade, Banquet and Ball, Saturday, November 16th; Sunday, November 17th, Church Service. On Saturday, November 30th, C.P.F.B.A. Competitions at Mona Square.
